General Information The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. TYPES OF PROTECTION

Safety Glasses Shield the wearer’s eyes from certain hazards depending on the spectacle type. Safety glasses are commonly used to provide protection from impact and optical radiation.

Goggles Fit the face surrounding the eyes in order to shield the eyes from certain hazards. Configurations include direct and indirect ventilation. Direct ventilation allows the direct passage of air. Indirect ventilation excludes the passage of liquids and/or optical radiation.

Over-the-Glasses These OTG (Over-The-Glasses) safety glasses are designed to fit comfortably over prescription eyeglasses. A cost effective alternative to expensive prescription safety glasses and also great safety glasses for temporary workers or visitors.

Welding A welding helmet protects your eyes and face. Welding helmets are made of a high-grade light-weight plastic. These materials protect your face against the heat, sparks, infrared and ultraviolet rays emitted during welding. The welding filter protect the eyes from bright light, ultraviolet and infrared radiation. “Ordinary” welding filters are available in different colors (sade numbers) of 4 to 14. Automatic welding filter discolor automatically when you start the welding process. The view of your work is guaranteed, also immediately before and immediately after welding. Further is the risk reduced of eye damage because the helmet does not have to be removed or to be fold.

General Information A safety helmet protects against injuries to the head that may arise from impact or falling objects. Wearing a helmet is not always required, but is often advisable. A helmet that fits properly under all conditions, contributes to a safer workplace. TYPES OF PROTECTION

Construction Helmet Standard Provides good protection against everyday hazards, eg strike or against small falling objects.

Bump cap Provides protection against bumps, but not against falling objects. The bump cap cannot absorb the impact of falling objects.

Safety Helmet and expiration date A helmet that is distorted by a falling object must not be used again. The life of a safety helmet is dependent on the material between 3 and 10 years. The climate, UV radiation and chemicals are the main factors that determine life safety helmets. A helmet should not be plastered with stickers, the stickers accelerates the aging process. Even the sun accelerates the aging process. Therefore there is a maximum time of use in the manual.

HEARING PROTECTION

General Information Noise is part of everyday life, but too much noise can cause permanent and disabling hearing damage. This can be hearing loss that gets worse over time, damage caused by sudden or extremely loud noises. However, there is no need for your hearing to be damaged by your work. People should wear a hearing protector if the noise or sound level at the workplace exceeds 85 decibels (dB). Hearing protectors reduce the noise exposure level and the risk of hearing loss. Condor personal protective equipment offers you a wide range of quality hearing protection gear to meet or exceed relevant CE safety standards.

TYPES OF PROTECTION

Earplugs Ear plugs, made from expandable foam are the traditional way of protection, provide the best combination of comfort and protection for most users against noise. Once in the ear, the foam plug expands in the ear canal and fits thus for everyone. Available with or without cord.

Earmuffs Most earmuffs enclose completely both ears with a hollow cup and forms an airtight seal. The cups are internally insulated and fitted with sound absorbent foam. A soft- ring shaped cushion provides a firm but comfortable seal around the ears. Earmuffs have a headband to hold the cups in place. There are also earmuffs available, which can be attached to the safety helmet directly.

NOISE REDUCTION RATINGS (NRR) The maximum number of decibels (dB) that a hearing protector will reduce the sound level when worn.

SINGLE NUMBER RATING (SNR) An SNR is a single number rating system determined according to International Standard ISO 4869. The tests are carried out by commercial laboratories that are independent of the manufacturers. Like NRRs, SNRs are expressed in dB’s and are used as a guide for comparing the potential noise reduction capability of different hearing protection devices.

General Information Respiratory protective equipment are used in many workplaces to protect workers when working with hazardous substances, such as gases, solvents, powdered chemicals and sprays. Each specific hazard must have the proper respirator that provides protection for that hazard. Proper fitting of respiratory equipment and the wearing of equipment as it was intended is equally important. TYPES OF PROTECTION

Disposable Masks Disposable respirators cover nose, mouth and part of the chin. Some of them contain exhaling valves. Disposable masks are fabricated from filter tissues and available with or without exhalation valve. An elastic band around the head and neck keeps them in place. They are intended for unique or limited use. Reusable Full Face Masks Full face masks protect against gases and dust, including toxic gases, fumes and dust particles. It is clear that irritating compounds require full masks. The right filter cartridge needs to be selected and are classified according to their specific application range. The filter cartridges are screwed onto the full mask which is covering the whole face.

Reusable Half Masks Half masks protect against gases and dust, including toxic gases, fumes and dust particles.
