In the case of an error in layer respooling, the machine will automatically stop and reverse to where the error occurred. It will then attempt respooling a set number of times, or finish the spool randomly, depending on what the machine has been programmed to do. The machine will automatically place an empty spool on the machine, hook the wire onto it and then start spooling.

Once terminated, the finished spool is automatically discharged and the cycle begins again – all at a speed in excess of 35m/sec. It can use different types of spools (wire baskets, plastic or fibreboard), with a short changeover time from one format to another. The user interface is simple and user- friendly, featuring a large synoptic display with touch-screen controls for all functions.

GMP Slovakia is a leader in the production of steel reels, drums and handling equipment. The manufacturing department is located in Pribenik, Slovakia, and has an industrial area of 130,000m 2 . In the manufacturing departments there are traditional machines and high technology machineries as well as welding robots, CNC turning machines and 1,000 ton presses. GMP Slovakia’s range of products includes many different reels: one way reels, standard reels for bunchers, drawing and stranding, reinforced double flange reels for steel wire drawing process, big drums for cable and rope process or for transport. The company also manufactures different take apart reels for coils production. For example type Easykoil, patented and very easy to use: the inside mechanism system of this reel allows the operator to release automatically the flange below without any intervention, just lifting the upper flange by suitable hooks after releasing the security lock. This special reel is also available in the Plus version, to permit the use of the reel as a coil lifter. The catalogue also includes standard items, such as TA/SCS type, which is the classical take apart reel that can be opened and closed by a single central screw or four screws, or TA/Z type which is a take apart reel with bronze collar and cardboard barrel. To handle all these items, GMP Slovakia supplies tilters, lifters and other ancillaries.
