BUHLER EARNS 2nd PFL HONOR: For his performance against St. Mary 's College on October 5th, Mike Buhler (Northglenn, CO) was named the PFL Special Teams Player of the Week. Although the team lost 52-3 at Saint Mary's College, Buhler continued his fine punting by averaging 43.3 yards on punts with longs of 60 and 54 yards. A First Team AII-PFL selection a year ago, Buhler has now punted 34 times this season and is averaging 41.2. GAELS GALLOP PAST TOREROS; Saint Mary's College, an NCAA Division I-AA scholarship program, improved to 4-1 on the season with their 52-3 victory over USO on Oct. 5th ... it was Saint Mary's ninth straight win over the Toreros and their 13th staight win at Saint Mary's Stadium ... THE SERIES: The Toreros lead the series 2-1. All three games have been close with Evansville winning in 1993 (27-21), and USO winning the last two (28-16 in 1994; 19-17 last year). This will be the first PFL night game that Evansville has ever played. HEAD COACH KEVIN llcGARRY': Kevin McGarry (USO, '79), who is in the midst ofhis first season as head coach, takes a record of2-3 into Saturday's game. McGarry, an assistant coach at USO the past eighteen seasons, including the last fourteen as defen– sive coordinator and defensive backs coach, replaced Brian Fogarty who stepped down to become USD's Director of Athletic Develop– ment. McGarry received both his B.A. in Education and M.S. in Education Administration from USO, and is currently on a leave of absense from USO 's Doctoral program in Education. Kevin and his wife, Mary Ann, reside in Scripps Ranch with their four children: twins Pat and Mike (9 year-olds), Timbo (6 years old) and Matt, who arrived this past March.
