Bill is beginning his third season as a full-time assistant with USD's coaching staff. Aftercoaching linebackers and directing Special Teams his first two seasons (1993, 1995), Bill moves over to offense where he will be the Offensive Coordinator and coach the running backs. Besides his coaching duties, he will play a major role in USD's recruiting efforts. A 1981 graduate of Occidental , Bill earned his undergraduate degrees in Physical

Jim enters his first season with the Torero staff. He takes over as Defensive Coor– dinator as well as the linebackers coach. Jim comes to USD from Occidental

College in Los Angeles where the past three years he wasDefensive Coordinator and Special Teams Coordinator. Prior to Occidental he held coaching positions at Cal State Fullerton ( 1991- .._=======~ 92), Arizona State ( 1989-90), Pacific (1985-88) and North Central College ( 1983-85). He played football at College of DuPage where he was a NJCAA Region 5 All-State defensive back and finished his playing career at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. He graduated from North Central in 1978 where he earned a double major in Physical Education and Recreation. Jim and his wife Kimberly have two daughters, Gretchen (4) and Hannah (1). JACK RLBIDOLX

Education and History - he completed his teaching credential from Oxy in the spring of 1982. Besides USD, his vast coaching experiences include stints at New Mexico State ( I982-85); San Francisco State ( 1986); as Offensive Coordinatorand Offensive Line Coach at Occidental (1987-90); Offensive Line Coach at CS Fullerton ( 1991 -92); and Offensive Coordinator/Recruiting Coor– dinator at Redlands (1994). MIKE RISH Receht'rs Mike is beginning his 13th season on the Torero staff. Mike played for USD from 1979-83 and is the school 's all-time career leader in three receiving categories: receptions (IOI ), touch– downs ( 18) and receiving yardage (1,722 yards). Mike graduated from USD with an Ac– counting degree in 1984. He is the Assistant Vice President for Secondary Marketing for Guild Mortgage Company in San Diego. Bob enters his first year with the USD staff where he will coach the quarterbacks. He brings a wealth of coaching experience, having most recently been the Defensive Coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Montclair Prep High School in Van Nuys, California the past two seasons. The 1994 squad won the CIF Championship. Prior to Montclair he held coaching positions at Occidental ( 1993); head coach at Bishop Montgomery HS (1992); head coach at Pius X (1991 ); head coach at Daniel Murphy HS (I 990); quarterback/wide receiver coach at Occidental (1988, 1989) where they were two-time SCIAC Champs; and wide receiver coach at Nevada (I 983-84 ), where they won the Big Sky title in 1983. Bob earned his B.S. degree in Physical Education & Health in 1982 from Western Michigan University (he played wingback four years); and more recently earned his M.Ed. (emphasis in P.E.) from Azusa Pacific. Bob and his wife Jeannette have one son, Jamie (age 4), and reside in Bonita. BOB THOl\lPSO'.\ Quarlt'rhacks

Ht'ad .I.\. Coach/l>t·l"t'nsht' ,\"I. Jack returns for his 11th season with the USD football program. After spending the past five years on offense with the running backs, he returns to the defensive side ofthe ball where he will assist with defensive backs. In addition to his defensive duties, Jack will be the Head Junior Varsity Coach.

A 1978 graduate of USD, Jack has an extensive background in coaching at the high school level with both football and baseball. He is co– owner of Integrated Space Systems, Incorporated in San Diego.

ED JOH'.\S Offen,i, e Lint'

Ed brings an extensive list of coach– ing credentials to USD where he enters his first year as offensive line coach. His numerous coaching stops include stints at San Diego City College(l 962); Univer– sity of Oregon ( 1963-70) with a one year hitch at Utah ( 1965), and Point Loma High School

(1984-88 and 1990-92). He was a two-way performer at San Diego State (1953-55) and went on to earn his B.S. (1955) and M.S . (1959) degrees in Physical Education. Ed and his wife Fritzi, who have three grown children (Betsy, . Susan, and Steve), reside in San Diego.

assistant coach at Occidental College in Los Angeles. He started in 1993 as the running backs coach and the last two years was defensive line coach. In 1992 Steve was a Player/ Coach for a professional football team in Australia. Steve played one year of football at the Air Force Academy (1987) before transferring to Occidental College where he played out his collegiate career. He was an offensive guard between 1989-9 1 and was selected Co– Captain and All-SCIAC in 1991 when the team won the conference title. He earned his B.A. in Political Science in 199 1 from Occidental and received his M.A. degree in Education in I995. Steve grew up in San Diego where he attended Point Loma High School , graduating in 1987.

Chris begins his first season with the Toreros where he will coach the inverts. Most of his coaching experience was at Cheshire High School in Cheshire, Connecticut ( 1992-95) where they were four-time state champs and twice the New England Champs ('93, '95). He coached DB's, LB' sand quarterbacks. Between 1993-96, Chris

was a full-time P.E. instructor there. He earned his B.S. in Communications in 1992 from SouthernConnecticut State University, and has since earned two M.S. degrees there in History ('94) and Physical Education ('96).
