Industry analyst Pyramid Research expects the number of FTTH and FTTB connections in Latin America to reach 5.1 million by the end of 2015, part of an overall trend that will see connections increase at a compound annual growth rate of 34.9 percent over the next five years. However, research predicts that DSL is set to remain as the dominant fixed line technology. Overall, Pyramid expects the number of fixed lines for voice and Internet services to reach 163.8 million by the end of 2015, an increase of 2.3 percent over 2014.
