It's a case of being spoiled for choice for the wire and cable industry, with two exhibitions/conferences to keep everyone occupied at the start of next month. The biennial staging of wire South America gets underway in São Paulo, Brazil, from 6 th to 8 th October. Running alongside the ever-popular Tubotech, more than 15,000 visitors attended the show two years ago in the city that prides itself on being the beating heart of Brazil's economy. Our coverage of the three-day exhibition starts on page 40. A little nearer to home, the staging of the IWCS technical symposium. The conference is being held a month earlier than usual, but expectations are high that amove toAtlanta, Georgia, and the Hyatt Regency Hotel, will be a popular move. This is amove away from the traditional 'homes' of Providence, Rhode Island, and Charlotte, North Carolina, but one thing that has stayed the same is the rich content of professional development and training courses, and technical sessions.
