SOPHOMORE (2005): Led all Torero starting pitchers with a 3.42 ERA. . made 16 starts and 18 total appearances... began the season 1-3 despite posting a 2.78 ERA in his first five appearances... pitched a 7-inning com– plete-game shutout vs. Evansville (2-25-05)...named to the Aggie Baseball Classic all-tournament team ...struck out seven and allowed just two runs in eight innings of work against San Diego State (3-13-05)... rewarded for an outstanding month ofApril by being selected as the WCC/Rawlings Pitcher of the Month, going 3-1 with a 2.68 ERA, averaging 7.4 innings per start spanning five April appearances...set a career-high with nine strikeouts during a win at Santa Clara (4-9-05)... lasted seven or more innings in nine of his 16 starts .. . Used twice in early-season series' against both No. 5 Texas and No. 23 Washington... Struck out four during two scoreless innings of work against Washington (2-13-04), a 5-1 USO win ... Fanned a season– high four batters on two different occasions... Named the WCC/Rawlings Pitcher of the Week (3-15-04), leading USO to three victories over nationally recognized school's Cal State Fullerton (3-9-04), No. 19 Nebraska (3-12-04) and No. 9 Long Beach State (3-14-04)... Threw a combined 6.2 scoreless innings in relief helping USO win all three of those games, cu lminated by recording his first col legiate save in three innings vs. Long Beach State (3- 14-04) in front of 20,737 fans at San Diego's new downtown stadium Petco Park... Allowed just 10 extra-base hits in over 45 innings of work... Posted a 3-2 record and a 4.96 season ERA. .. Fanned 25 batters and allowed 55 hits through 45.1 innings. FRESHMAN (2004): Impressive as a true freshman in 2004...untouchable in 12 relief appearances within WCC play, allowing just one earned run as USD's closer posting a 1.16 ERA and a 3-1 record in 23.1 innings .. recorded six saves...struck out 69 batters in 51 .2 innings...fanned a sea– son-high seven twice, first against Houston (3-1 3-04) and against Santa Clara (4-8-04)...was 3-1 with a team-leading 2.26 ERA in 22 appearances and four starts...made three starts early in the season and one at No. 21 UC Irvine (5-11-04)... 11 of his 13 earned runs were scored during his four starts...
