120 • Get Your Pretense On!

When the Lord calls us to a task, he supports our ministry, stands behind us, and provides the resources needed to get it done. He bears witness alongside us as we bear witness to his work. “How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard, while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will (Heb. 2.3-4). God will stand with us in every task he gives us to do. Principle 4: The Mission After receiving God’s call, and being equipped and entrusted with authority and supply to accomplish God’s will, then the representative is charged with the faithful execution of the task. The agent is now free to engage in the operation in order to accomplish the particular results of the job, according to the specifications and deadlines given. A representative must subordinate his/her will in order to fulfill the task. You have been given a task, and God has given you freedom to accomplish it. Now, go do it! Obedience is the mark of a faithful representative, and the key virtues of a representative are loyalty, integrity, and wholehearted engagement. The mission is about achieving results , not about possessing intentions . God calls his folk to do his will, and in the doing, there is blessing! Jesus exemplifies this principle as Messiah of God, carrying out his task of fulfilling the Father’s plan. He constantly spoke of his commitment to do his will. Throughout his life and ministry, he spoke of his intent to accomplish the will and call of God. Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, “Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me; [6] in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure. [7] Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to
