do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book’” [quotation of Psalm 40.6-8]. ~ Hebrews 10.5-7 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.” ~ John 4.34 “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.” ~ John 5.30 So Jesus said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority, but speak just as the Father taught me.” ~ John 8.28 I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. ~ John 17.4 Jesus was the perfect representative of God, and accomplished the will of God in every respect. Like him, we are called to have the same mind, the same inclination and spirit, to give ourselves to do the tasks that he has called us to do. We are to “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus (Phil. 2.5), who emptied himself, took on the form of a servant, and was obedient to death, dying on the cross for us” (Phil. 2.6-8). Principle 5: The Reckoning Every representative is answerable to the one who sent him/her, and their work will be assessed by the one who sent him or her. The representative answers back to the sending authority, whose actions are weighed against the results requested. The work of every agent must be evaluated and reviewed. Usually the
