The agent’s work product as well as their personal predisposition during the work are evaluated, and they are rewarded, based on their performance. Paul spoke often of his answerability before God of the work that he had been called to do. He used the analogy of the bema seat , the place in the ancient municipalities where actions were weighed and judgments given regarding the facts of a case. He taught that each believer will need to stand before the bema seat of Christ, to receive directly from the Lord the blessings and or judgment for the work they did, in answer to their particular call. (This judgment is not concerning eternal life, but regarding reward for faithfulness in answer to God’s specific call on our lives.) Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, [24] knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
