Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat [ bema seat ] of God; [11] for it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” [12] So then each of us will give an account of himself to God. ~ Romans 14.10-12 Each of us is provided a specific calling and mission, with resources and gifts given that we may glorify God in our work. Jesus will assess the quality of our works, not to condemn us, but to reward us for the faithful service we have done for him, in his name and honor. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy. [3] But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. [4] I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me. [5] Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God [italics mine].
