Fifteen years ago, what was once a vision, and seemingly a long shot, beca- me a reality. Several dozen boats towed by college anglers made their way to Lewisville, TX in hopes of taking home the title of Champion in the first- ever BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Cabela’s. The event had a great turnout, showcased the sport of college bass fishing to a national audience, and provided those anglers with a trail to compete on and represent their respective schools. As the old saying goes, “The rest is history.” Fast forward to now, and the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops is the longest-running major college event in existence. That one event held during the heat of September back in the early 2000s just outside of Dallas, TX has evolved into a year-round trail that boasts the strongest fields in the sport competing on the best lakes in the country. Withtheunwaveringsupportof sponsors, truededication fromtheanglers, and the greatest television exposure of any scholastic series, the Bass Pro Shop’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series has established itself as the premier college fishing trail. The goal of every college fishing program is to win the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year title, there’s no doubt about it. This is the mentality of just about every school that participates in college bass fishing. Week in and week out, college anglers compete against each other on some of the best lakes in the country. RANGER CUP CHALLENGE

The Ranger Cup Challenge is the only tournament of its kind that ta- kes the highest qualifier from two top college trails and allows them to compete against one another for thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes. Ranger Boats, an indu- stry leader in their field, partners with the ACA and FLW to host the Ranger Cup Challenge. Qualifying anglers are treated to an all expense paid trip where they will compete in a one-day event to de- termine a winner. For more than 10 years now, the Ranger Cup Challen- ge has rewarded some of college fis- hing’s finest young anglers for their dedication to one of the greatest

brands in the sport.
