Supreme Court Seminar

2 credits day; 2 credits evening.

The focus for this course will be the docket for the current Supreme Court term. Each student will be required to choose a case to be heard in the Court's current term. The student will produce a paper and make a class presentation based upon a study of lower court opinions and briefs filed as well as newspaper commentary on the parties and the issue and scholarly commentary on the issues presented. The grade will be based upon the paper, class presentation, and class participation. The theme will be the dynamics of the participation of the judicial branch in the nation's governance.

Prerequisite: Constitutional Law
