THE LUXO TREATMENT These eight Pixar titles join the original Toy Story trilogy on 4K Ultra HD in Australia, as well as Toy Story 4 , which also arrives this month. Others already available here on the format are the two Incredibles movies, plus the delightful Coco . So, what’s left to come? WALL-E and Up sit atop our ‘can’t wait’ list, along with the underrated A Bug’s Life and the two Monsters, Inc. flicks. While Cars 3 is available in 4K overseas, we await word on a local release.

Pixar have an incredible catalogue featuring some of the most loved animated movies ever created. On October 2, a whole bunch of them are hitting the 4K Ultra HD format, giving us the perfect opportunity to revisit their enduring magic. Words Amy Flower

FINDING DORY AGE: 5+ The runaway – uh, swim away – star of Finding Nemo gets her own movie, which sees our loveable but forgetful blue tang setting out on a search for her long- lost parents. Obviously this isn’t an easy mission, but with a little help from her friends Marlin and Nemo, who knows what may happen? Cool quote: “I remember it like it was yesterday. Of course, I don't really remember yesterday all that well.” – Dory

BRAVE AGE: 7+ Starring the first official Disney princess to hail from the Pixar stable, we’re spirited off to Scotland for a tale of archery, strong will, witchcraft and bears. The adage “Be careful what you wish for” is one that our young heroine Merida really learns the true meaning of. Cool quote: “I don't want my life to be over – I want my freedom!” – Princess Merida CARS AGE: 5+ “Speed. I am speed…” Memorable words from star race car Lightning McQueen, in this movie that launched innumerable wannabe racers – and a marketing juggernaut. A mishap sees arrogant McQueen go off-road, and learning many a worthy life lesson from the inhabitants of a small town. Cool quote: “Float like a Cadillac, sting like a Beemer.” – Lightning McQueen CARS 2 AGE: 7+ Lightning McQueen and friends return – in a spy thriller! Mater becomes an international tow-truck of mystery, stumbling into the undercover world of British spy car Finn McMissile and his efforts to thwart an evil plan that threatens all World Grand Prix participants – including McQueen. Cool quote: “What's everyone on the wrong side of the road for?” – Mater FINDING NEMO AGE: 5+ Clownfish dad Marlin worries obsessively about his wee son Nemo, and when the little guy goes missing, his concerns are justified. Cue an adventure where Marlin teams up with forgetful Dory to find his son – while Nemo and his new dental surgery buddies seek their own route to freedom. Cool quote: “Just keep swimming!” – Dory

INSIDE OUT AGE: 9+ Probably too out-there and scary in places for smaller Pixar acolytes, those who are a bit older are in for a treat with this tale of the emotions

When it comes to new cinema arrivals in November, we have two chilled syllables for you – “Fro” and “Zen”. Yes, the very much-anticipated Frozen II arrives, bringing us the latest adventures of Anna, Elsa and friends. While Disney’s animated feast dominates the big screens, there’ll be plenty to entertain at home, with the biggest of them all being the arrival of this year’s remake of Disney’s The Lion King arriving on 4K Ultra HD, Blu- ray and DVD.

THE GOOD DINOSAUR AGE: 7+ Imagine an asteroid-free world where dinosaurs and humans coexist. A fearful young Apatosaurus named Arlo ends up lost on a huge adventure, in which he discovers a young human whom he names ‘Spot’ and adopts as his initially reluctant pet – and friend – as they search for home.
