The PHA Buzz October 2012
Golden girl Jess has a ball!
On Saturday, September 29, the Sport and Leisure team helped client Genting launch their new, multimillion pound venue in Sheffield. The Genting Club Sheffield has been under development for nine months, spans 35,000 feet and includes two restaurants, three bars and of course a gaming floor.
To cause ultimate excitement about the new venue amongst the people of Sheffield, PHA arranged for none other than Sheffield golden girl and Olympic champion, Jessica Ennis, to attend the launch night and officially open the Club. Jess cut the ribbon at the venue in front of 1,200 lucky invited guests and competition winners. Jess also took to the ‘cash cube’ on the night to raise money for her charity, the Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The Black Vs Red game that Jess played, involved her catching as
many balls as possible whilst they were being blown about in a glass box! Jess raised £5,000 for the charity on the night. The night was also attended by Emmerdale actresses Lucy Parteger and Charley Webb, Sky Sports presenter Charlie Webster, and players from Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday. It was a fantastic evening, and the S&L team were of course very honoured to be in the presence of an Olympic champion!
The Olympics may be over, but it’s not just Genting that has been brushed with gold this month; we are also delighted to announce that PHA Media has won a Best For PR Gold ranking in no less than three individual categories. PHA were awarded the top rating for Consumer PR, London PR and Best Agency in the UK wide table, which sees an independent judging panel assess each application and, if successful, grant the company a Gold, Silver or Bronze ranking. To have achieved a hat-trick of Golds across all three relevant categories is a fantastic achievement, and a credit to the hard work and impressive results achieved by the agency over the past year. PHA are a golden wonder
