PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hello Greystone Members! Congratulations to you, our Members, for all your enthusiasm and support of your Club during the last three months! Each of you stepped up to the challenges at hand, and together we made this an eventful time for Greystone Golf & Country Club. While other Clubs in the country did not accept the challenge, together we all came up with a plan to make your Club available for your use with as much normalcy and as little inconvenience to you as possible. Please give yourselves a huge "Kudos" for solidifying our club with your understanding, contributions and participation. We have great news! We are at budget. This is a tremendous position for us to be in during this unprecedented time. Again, this was accomplished because of you, our Members.

During the months of March-June we brought in 31 new members, with Golf Member Equivalents being above our budget. Thanks to all who brought in their friends, colleagues and neighbors to share your great Club! I know all of you will greet these new faces when you see them around campus. Our General Manager, Dave Porter, and his staff have clearly earned extra praise for their consistency in providing us with great food and great service. The staff is continuing the sanitization procedures daily for your safe and comfortable environment. Be sure to thank them when you are enjoying your time at the events and outings. Summer is here! The weather is very cooperative for all our outdoor festivities and we are poised for another great Alabama sun-filled summer at the Stone! The next 3 months are packed with awesome events like the July 4th Celebration; Children's Breakfasts: Baby Shark, & Tractors & Trucks at Founders Golf Maintenance Facility; Dinner on the Green; Italian Wine Dinner at Legacy; plus a BBQ & Blues Party in July. These are just a sample of the events to come, but watch for more scheduled fun events as the months unfold. The Popular Regions Tournament is coming and the New dates are September 23-27, 2020! Momentum is truly gaining as the list of Celebrities and Pro-Golfers continue to grow. Steve Smith and his staff, plus our generous volunteers, are very well prepared for assisting the Tournament Event Team and all our prestigious players! Jason Miller and his staff will have our course looking perfect and well presented as our Club and course returns to the National spotlight. Club Members and all our Greystone neighbors are encouraged to participate as we strive to ensure Greystone is selected for this Tournament for many more years to come. I sincerely hope each of you took advantage of the early purchasing of the Member Packages that ensure your premium access to this awesome week of events. The Bruno Event Team is working closely with our GM, Dave Porter, and his staff to position us for ultimate success. New entertainment, new venues and fun events are coming your way during the Regions Tradition week at Greystone Golf & Country Club. Don't miss out on it! As you know, we are all eager to return to normal as soon as possible. Again, thank you for your patience and contributions. On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Staff, thank you for being a part of this awesome Greystone Golf & Country Club family!

See you around the campus!

Janice Folmar Club President, 2020

GENERAL MANAGER'S MESSAGE

Dear Members, I hope you and your family are well and staying safe.

Even though COVID-19 is not completely behind us, we have been able to return to some normalcy in our lives. The staff and I hope the Club contributed some positivity for you and your family during the peak of the stay-at-home period. Special events we’ve introduced will continue to be standard for us, including bingo, wine tastings, sunset cruises, and curbside grab-and-go. Thank you for supporting the Club during such a difficult time. Social Distancing Events Include: Virtual Bingo - July 7th, August 13th, September 10th Sunset Cruises - July 21st, August 18th, & September 2nd Virtual Wine Tasting - July 17th, August 21st, September 18th

Bria McKinney has done an incredible job putting together a first class team at the pool this summer. You will now see numbered flags on the dining and side tables around the pools to help improve service with a seamless delivery. She has assembled a full swim team even though the league didn’t exist this year. We will have several informal meets against clubs so the kids can get more competitive experience. Regions Tradition is coming fast with our new fall schedule of September 23-27. Tickets are on sale through our website or filling out a slip around the club and giving it to a manager. If you previously purchased tickets for May, they are still good for September. You may pick-up your tickets at the Founders reception desk. The Board approved moving forward with the refurbishment project of all 10 har-tru clay tennis courts. Work has begun on courts one and two. The entire project is anticipated to be completed by mid-August. The Finance Committee, Board, and management are still focused on the tennis building renovations to begin by this fall if the Club’s finances remain stable. We have purchased new banquet chairs for the main dining room, which have been delivered. We also completed a few other improvements while the clubhouse was closed: new fans were installed on the upper porches at Founders and new fires pits and seating arrangements were installed on the Terrace. The deteriorated concrete areas entering the Founders Golf Shop were replaced. The Club and Community are launching a new app and website in mid-July. Details on log-in and features will be sent several times in advance via email. As Mrs. Folmar stated, membership interest and growth has been excellent during the spring. Great work to Ashley and her team, as well as the department heads and staff for making Greystone a desirable Club to join. All of the help we get from members sponsoring, referring and acting as Ambassadors for prospective members is very much appreciated and the best tool we have to grow membership. I hope you have an amazing summer here at Greystone! I look forward to seeing each of you around the Club soon.

Best regards,

Dave Porter General Manager
