Peer-to-peer learning A solely postgraduate environment, Cranfield University offers a breadth of networking potential with like-minded peers. International exchange programme Cranfield holds the enviable position of being the only UK business school in the EMBA Consortium. The Consortium is a collaboration of leading university business schools that spans five continents and 16 time zones. The EMBA Consortium exchange takes place each September and students are given the chance to visit another world-renowned business school from around the world and join a week-long programme of lectures, company visits, and social/ cultural events. This international experience provides EMBA students with the opportunity to broaden and deepen their global EMBA experience, meet students from other schools, and exchange ideas. The knowledge exchange that our faculty gain from hosting the visiting students from other countries is then used to shape the course content to ensure that Cranfield students are taught the most relevant, up-to-date material so that they can bring their international insight to their organisation.

Course structure The Executive MBA will develop your leadership and management skills, specifically focusing on business growth and innovation. You will cover modules in Organisational Behaviour, Strategic Operations Management, Leading with Impact, and a Business Research Project. During Part 1 of the programme, you will spend 15 months learning the core principles of becoming a business leader. These modules will allow you to reflect on your current role and focus on developing the needs of the business. This portion of the programme will deepen your understanding of organisations and their contexts. Part 2 of your programme will inspire your leadership progression with Cranfield’s world-leading thought-provoking ideas, challenging you into thinking beyond your current role, to propel your thinking, your toolset, your career, and your business to new heights. The Business Research Project allows students to synthesise relevant concepts and methods they have learned throughout their studies and to apply their skills to get an in-depth understanding of a particular topic/industry, delivering tangible and actionable impact.

Academic staff Our faculty are leaders in their field, with hands-on business experience who understand the challenges of putting theory into practice. Their experience is reinforced by close links with organisations through consultancy projects, teaching on executive development programmes and sponsored research. This ensures that what you learn at Cranfield is always current and cutting edge.

Dr Ioannis (Yannis) Koliousis, Associate Professor and Director of the Executive MBA Yannis has over 20 years of academic, entrepreneurial, and industrial experience in the fields of operations and supply chain management, transport management, shipping, transport planning, cargo and freight logistics, public transport, urban logistics, project appraisal and finance, transport policy and renewable energy. His consulting experience ranges from the operational to the strategic level and he has participated in different capacities in industry-led projects as well as in cornerstone EU-funded research projects, regularly advising senior leadership on these topics. Prior to joining Cranfield School of Management, Yannis was Associate Head of the School of Strategy and Leadership at Coventry University Business School, responsible for the Enterprise and Innovation portfolio, transforming the executive education portfolio.
