Welcome and Introductions (1:00pm-1:15pm) Review of AOAC Policies & Procedures and Review and Approval of March 20, 2014 Meeting Minutes

Panel Discussion on Food Safety (1:15pm-3:00pm) Dr. David Acheson (The Acheson Group), Dr. Robert Brackett (Illinois Institute of Technology, Institute for Food Safety and Health) and Dr. Samuel Godefroy (Health Canada) will lead a panel discussing focusing on contemporary topics in food safety. Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) Presentation (3:15pm-4:00pm) Dr. Petra Wissenburg (Groupe Danone) will provide a presentation on recent work done by the Global Food Safety Initiative’s Food Fraud Think Tank as well as GFSI’s larger strategic goals in the field of food safety. Working Group Launch: Heavy Metals Speciation (4:00pm-4:30pm) Dr. Christopher Smith (The Coca-Cola Company) will present the mission and fitness for purpose of the Heavy Metals Speciation Working Group.

Proposal for Working Group on Meat Species Authenticity (4:45pm-5:15pm) Dr. Thierry Delatour (Nestlé) will present on the topic of meat authenticity.

Recommendation on Future Priorities (5:15pm-6:00pm) Based on input from the panel discussion, GFSI, and the relevant communities, the stakeholder panel will develop a formal recommendation to the SPSFAM Advisory Panel on future standards development priorities.
