Birdwatching Sites Categories of species on each location have been identified as follows:
L'Étang-du-Nord La Martinique and Baie du Havre aux Basques Wetland (lagoon), dunes and beaches. A, B, C, D, E Getting there: on the side of Dune de l'Ouest: Chemin Coulombe or Chemin du Rivage. On the side of La Martinique Beach: Route 199 between Cap aux Meules Island and Havre Aubert Island. L’Île aux Goélands (Seagulls Island) Rocky island. A, B, D Getting there: Chemin Delaney. La Bouillée de Bois Forested area. A, B, D, E Getting there: Route 199. Le Gros Cap Cliffs, beaches. B, C, D Pointe de l'Échouerie and Parc de Gros-Cap. Getting there: Chemin de Gros-Cap and Chemin du Camping. Havre aux Maisons Island (map p. 46) Parc des Sillons, township of Dune du Sud Forested area. A bit further, the area surrounding the waste water ponds is also a good site for birdwatching. A, B, D, E Getting there: Route 199, dirt road near Nouveaux Horizons retirement home. Grosse Île Island (map p. 50-51) Havre aux Maisons Island (map p. 44) Pointe de l'Est National Wildlife Area A, B, D, E Getting there: L'Échouerie and La Camarine trails. Parking is available at both sites along Route 199.

Getting there: ferry, boat trips and excursions offered depending on weather conditions. See Entry Island p. 33 and Nature Interpretation p. 98.

Cap-aux-Meules Parc des Buck Forested area. A, B, D, E Getting there: at the end of Chemin de la Mine. Fatima Le Barachois Wetland featuring salt marsh, brackish and freshwater marshes. A, B, C, D, E Getting there: Chemin de l’Hôpital and Chemin Poirier.
