Amendments to State Constitution Submitted to Electors on November 2, 2010

AMENDMENT 4 - REFERENDA REQUIRED FOR ADOPTION AND AMENDMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLANS Established that before a local government may adopt a new comprehensive land use plan, or amend a comprehensive land use plan, the proposed plan or amendment shall be subject to vote of the electors of the local government by referendum, following preparation by the l o c a l p l a n n i n g a g e n c y , consideration by the governing body and not i ce . Provides definitions.

AMENDMENT 2 - HOMESTEAD AD VALOREM TAX CREDIT FOR DEPLOYED MILITARY PERSONNEL Military personnel receiving a homestead exemption who were deployed outside the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii wi l l r ece i ve an add i t i ona l percentage exemption equal to the number of days deployed during the previous calendar year divided by 365. If passed, the exemption will be effective January 1, 2011.

AMENDMENT 3 - PROPERTY TAX LIMIT FOR NON-HOMESTEAD PROPERTY; ADDITIONAL HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION FOR NEW HOMESTEAD OWNERS The maximum annual increase in the assessed value of non-homestead property will be reduced from 10% to 5% effective January 1, 2011. Provides an additional homestead exemption for persons who have not owned a principal residence during the preceding 8 years equal to 25% of the property's just value, up to $100,000. The additional exemption will be decreased by 20% a year for the next 5 years. This portion of the amendment shall take effect January 1, 2011, and shall be available for properties purchased on or after January 1, 2010.
