R&D PROJECT LEADER This seminar is focused on the development of a true project leader culture within the framework of the Saint-Gobain ‘Gate process’ for R&D projects management.

OBJECTIVES

• To accelerate the successful implementation of R&D projects by adopting project management principles from idea to industrialisation • To be familiar with and successfully use the methodology and tools for managing a project, especially those commonly practiced in Saint-Gobain • To be able to evaluate R&D projects • To reinforce managerial as well as communication skills

PARTICIPANTS

R&D project leaders or R&D engineers with project management responsibilities

PROGRAMME

• Project management: structuring, objectives, risk evaluation, Organization • Communication: strengthen your management skills and ability to convince others, especially for steering committees • Mastering Saint-Gobain tools for project management: Innovator Handbook and Gate Process, EHS checklist introduction to • eco-innovation tools • Economic evaluation of R&D projects • Integration of associated functions (purchasing and marketing) within an R&D project Teaching techniques: practical exercises and case studies mostly in subgroup work

Prerequisites

• E-Learning modules: Introduction to finance, All about the EHS policy, Toxic risks • Preliminary reading about managing innovation
