LEADERSHIP, DEVELOPMENT & CHANGE MANAGEMENT

BUSINESS ACUMEN: ZODIAK® Zodiak® is a powerful financial acumen simulation about business--real world, how it works, why it works and when it doesn’t. It allows learners to experientially discover the big picture of how business works and how business success is measured. Program participants experience for themselves the determinants of organizational success, both financial and strategic.

OBJECTIVES

Objectives: After completing a Zodiak experience, learners will be able to demonstrate personal understanding of company terms, concepts, and goals · use relevant financial data and analysis in day-to-day decision making · ask informed questions about financial and strategic issues when taking action on the job · use financial terminology and concepts in discussions with others, including team members · align personal and department goals with the organization’s financial objectives and strategies · take personal action to impact targeted financial, strategic, operational, and/or customer objectives

PARTICIPANTS

Target Audience is Business Leaders, Managers, Sales Teams, and Employees

PROGRAMME

Zodiak®: the game of business finance and strategy. Organizations face tough decisions every day about processes, people, products, finances, and customers. How leaders, sales teams, and employees deal with these issues is critical. This team-based simulation puts learners into the position of buying a profitable company that has been losing market share over the years. Over the course of three “business” years, learners take actions as business owners that have an impact on Zodiak’s bottom line. They deal with such issues as strategic partnerships, managing debt, process improvement, supply chain management, investment in research and development and more. Learners calculate financials at the end of each year to discover how well their company has done and the impact of their decisions. Just as in the real world, they are confronted with “chance” events…weather problems, customer complaints, interest rate adjustments, losses in the plant, etc. Also as in the real world, investors have questions about the management of the company and their return on investment. Learners experience the impact of decisions and strategies while their choices result in a variety of financial outcomes, leading to rich discussions around choices, consequences and business results.
