Valve Stem Exercise

All valves are supposed to be cycled once per year and it looks like this one got missed for a few years. Service valves are there for a reason and not just to look pretty! In the event you need to close it in a hurry, they should work, and the packing should hold. If you show your big and small service valves a little love, they will give you many years of wonderful service and be there when you need them. I hope that none of you need to close them in an emergency but just in case, I would much rather rely on one that does not look like this one.
