Supporting the Island Commons for a New Van On November 29, a “new” wheelchair- accessible van rolled off the CTC barge and into the waiting hands of the Island Commons. The 2012 van, capable of transporting both wheelchair-bound and ambulatory passengers, as well as accompanying staff, replaced the aged

Commons’ operating license, and equally important, to provide mobility for residents of the Commons, ensuring that they can comfortably join in community activities with family and friends. In one of its initial outings, the van transported an enthusiastic group to the Whalers’ Christmas concert at the Hall. The Commons van, an acquisition long sought by the Commons board, residents, and staff, is now a reality!
