Due to poverty, many drop out early to join the work force to help increase the family income. Furthermore, many of the adults who grew up in poverty remain uneducated. The number of children who attend school has increased drastically in the past eight years, but school attendance remains an important challenge that the government faces. Private schools are a large part of the educational community in Brazil and most residents who can, choose to send their children to private schools. In your city guide you will find a list of international and multi-lingual schools to help you find an institution that is best for your family. Pets Deciding whether or not to bring your family pet is a personal decision. If you decide to bring your pet, you will have to comply with import requirements from the Brazilian Department of Agriculture. Ask your freight forwarder, moving company, or airline to ensure that the necessary paperwork is completed to import your pet. Be sure to have all your pet’s records and certificates with you. Before making your decision, consider:  How long will your stay be in Brazil?  Will having your pets with you help your family adjust to the new life?  If you do not bring your pet will you be worrying about your pet the entire time you are away?

Helpful Hint: It is important to take into consideration the quarantine period that could apply for bringing your pets back to your home country. Quarantine periods are required upon return in England, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Hawaii, and New Zealand.
