Structure Semester 1

Semester 2

Game Development

Digital Marketing and Data

During this Unit we will design an IoT (Internet of Things) device and discuss the ethical implications IoT devices and the lack of governance associated with these IoT devices. You are to reflect on your knowledge of sustainable practices in and around your home. Reducing the consumption of power is a strong motivation for home automation and the creation of a smart house. Using an ESP8266 Microprocessor and any reasonable adaptor to this microprocessor you are to create an IoT application that will replicate home automation.

You are an Indie Game Developer and you have 10 weeks free between paid employment opportunities to design and create a game that you have always wanted to create. You also want to ensure that your game has economic potential in the current video game market, so you will make sure it includes popular game design elements as well as any unique additions that you like. Your primary audience other than yourself will be determined by you based on your research. You will use the freely downloaded version of the Unity game engine to develop a 3D game. Your game could be based on any 3D genre, such as First Person Shooter (FPS), Puzzle, Adventure, Role Playing Game (RPG), Real Time Strategy (RTS) and Simulation.
