Financial-Assistance For Child Care/School Readiness: Financial assistance is available for low- income families (at or below 150% of the poverty level) allowing their children to be enrolled in early child care. Child Care Resource and Referral: We connect families with high quality early child care, school-age care and other family strengthening resources available in Broward County. Voluntary Pre-K (VPK): We administer Florida’s Free VPK Program in Broward County, which prepares 4 year-old children for kindergarten and introduces the skills needed to become strong readers and successful students. Child Development Screening & Assessment: All children receiving Financial Assistance in child care centers and family child care homes are screened to monitor children’s development and skills. Inclusion Specialists follow up to provide additional support and resources to schools and families. The Early Learning Coalition of Broward County helps families access early child care and educational services through the following programs:
Early Learning Training: We provide intensive coaching and quality training to child care centers and homes across the county to ensure Broward County children are successful lifetime learners.
Annual Conference: We proudly host an annual one-day conference to build upon the skills of Broward County’s early childhood educators and directors.
The Child Care WAGE$ ® Florida Program: We contract with WAGE$, which rewards early education providers with salary supplements based on their education and continuity of employment.
