Assessment Only Route to QTS

The Assessment Only (AO) Route to QTS enables unqualified teachers with a degree and significant teaching experience to demonstrate that they are meeting all of the Teachers’ Standards within their current school without the need for any further training. The 13 week programme of assessment results in the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). NLT is offering the AO Route to QTS in partnership with Two Mile Ash ITTP, a DfE accredited provider. Our AO Route to QTS is available to teachers in all phases of maintained schools, academies, independent schools and British schools overseas.

The AO Route with NLT is followed by a term of fast-tracked NQT induction (without additional charge) as we are an approved appropriate body. Eligible unqualified teachers within your school will therefore become fully qualified in no more than 2 terms. This makes the NLT combined offer of Assessment Only Route plus NQT induction unique as we are the only national provider to include NQT induction within our QTS programme. To find out more about the application process and eligibility criteria, please contact ao@learningtrust.net

NQT Appropriate Body (AB) Service

High quality national induction support for your Newly Qualified Teachers. The appointment of an Appropriate Body (AB) is a statutory requirement for the NQT induction process. The AB monitors each NQT’s induction through termly assessments and makes the final recommendation to the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) as to whether an NQT has met the Teachers’ Standards (following the school’s recommendation). In addition to the legal administration and assessment ratification process, our NQT induction service comprises guidance on

all areas concerning NQT induction, quality assurance of induction processes and professional support for schools and NQTs. We have a strong reputation for high quality NQT induction. Hundreds of NQTs receive the support they need each year to ensure they have the best possible start to their careers, both in the UK and overseas. To augment our AB service, we offer remote training options for your NQTs and mentors through webinars and Skype. We can also provide bespoke training for MATs/ school clusters.

LINK CPD Connect™

A selection of short personal development sessions for NQTs, OTTs, RTTs and new teachers. LINK CPD Connect™ has been developed in partnership with internationally acclaimed CPD practitioners Will Ord, Art of Brilliance, The TA College and Floyd Woodrow alongside contributions from our own school improvement team. These short videos are designed to supplement your own NQT development programme around key areas such as lesson planning, dealing with parents and making best use of your teaching assistant.
