Other areas of key interest HARTIES CABLEWAY
A great addition to the area, escpecially for birding during the week when it is quiet, is the reopened Magaliesberg cableway on the southern side of the mountain in Schoemansville, where one can get magnificent views over the dam and beyond and is well worth the effort. There are special rates for those over 60 and several places here to have breakfast or lunch, at the bottom cable station or the top. This is also a great spot to get close to the Striped Pipit and Mocking Cliff chat. Please note that the Cableway is a cash free venue. The best birding season is summer when most of the migrants are back, although there is always something of interest to see in the region.
