Microprocessor-controlled TX 3-PAK air dryers preclude the need for backups and automatically adjust output to meet cable plant airflow demand. The 3-PAK-8 incorporates two individually controlled air dryer systems to supply up to 8,000 SCFD; the 3-PAK-12 utilizes three systems to supply up to 12,000 SCFD. Power Savings. The 3-PAK requires only 2 1/4 H.P. to produce 12,000 SCFD, compared with 3 H.P. in some competitive units. This results in 1/3 less heat produced and 1/3 less power consumed. Convenient pushbutton controls are solid state. LEDs display system status at a glance. An electronic meter monitors individual system moisture content. Individual hourmeters show each system's run time. Troubleshooting time is minimal. Oil-free compressors eliminate potential lubricant and water contamination, and no auxiliary refrigeration is required to maintain dewpoint. All components are modular plug-in units. Removable front panels provide easy access. Special sound insulation insures lower sound levels at full operation, while dynamically balanced shock mounts minimize vibration. Reliability and Complete Back up. Each compressor bank and drying system is individually controlled. In the unlikely event of a problem, the 3-PAK-8 will operate at 1/2 capacity and the 3-PAK-12 will operate at 2/3 capacity. Any systems in the standby mode will be automatically started to cover additional demand. A manual control system which includes a separate humidity monitor and sensor provides back up for the automatic control system.
