Retractable Technologies, Inc. is the manufacturer of VanishPoint® and Patient Safe® safety products. VanishPoint® products virtually eliminate the risk of contaminated needlestick injuries that can transmit HIV, hepatitis (B and C), and many other infectious bloodborne diseases. Patient Safe® syringes are uniquely designed to reduce the risk of bloodstream infections resulting from catheter hub contamination. VanishPoint® products feature automated retraction. The needle is retracted directly from the patient into the device. The pre-removal activation virtually eliminates exposure to the contaminated needle, effectively reducing the risk of needle stick injury. Once retracted the VanishPoint® needle is safely enclosed within the syringe barrel and is almost impossible to accidently or purposely expose it again.
