Winery Overview When Andrea Vecchione, proprietor of San Quirico, planted his original 26.5 acres of vineyards more than 20 years ago, he was one of few in the area of San Gimignano who took a scientific approach to the task. The results have been so outstanding that his vineyards are now a prime source for select grafting. With their southern and western exposure, Andrea’s vineyards have now doubled in size, while his approach to winemaking still has but one yardstick: quality. His winery is small but efficient and equipped to produce state-of-the-art wines. In 2004, San Quirico obtained USDA NOP (National Organic Program) certification for their organic products. Location of Vineyard These estate vineyards are located just outside the hilltop town of San Gimignano and are USDA certified organic. Wines display pure fruit and a natural earthy and mineral element. Winemaking Philosophy Medium bodied with a round palate, this Chianti Colli Senesi is handcrafted from organic grapes and truly reflects the local terroir . Fresh fruit, crisp acidity and minerality blend together offering the style and finesse of a Classico level wine. The Vernaccia is produced according to the centuries old traditions of the zone, still vinified in cement tanks.

Winery Overview The d’Alessandro family moved from Rome in 1967 and purchased 247 acres of the Manzano farm in Cortona. Tenimenti d’Alessandro was the first fine wine estate in the area of Cortona in southern Tuscany. For over 300 years, Manzano has been at the center of the agriculture business in Val di Chiana, which is located in the wilderness of eastern Tuscany. Location of Vineyard The ideal climate and soil conditions in Cortona convinced Massimo d’Alessandro to believe and invest in Syrah. In 1988, the family’s selection of Cote Rotie Syrah clones matched with particular plots of land delivered excellent results and set the stage for further Syrah planting in Cortona. They gradually planted 100 acres of Syrah at 3,200 plants per acre and in 1999, the Cortona area achieved DOC status. Winemaking Philosophy High density plantings of specially selected clones are the agricultural foundations of the wines produced at Tenimenti Luigi d’Alessandro. Consulting winemakers, Luca Currado, of the famed Vietti estate in Piemonte and Christine Vernay, from the Northern Rhone provide the expertise and supervision for the production of the DOC Cortona wines. A combination of old and new are on display in the cellar, as wines are aged in both French oak and traditional cement vats.
