Some thoughts about Fireworks
I don’t know about you, but when I was a kid, the 4th of July meant only one thing- fireworks! That’s the only time of year we saw them and the experience was pretty special. These days, fireworks are used on many more occasions, year round. The 4 th of July fireworks seem to get more spectacular every year as well. I know how everyone is looking forward to warm summer nights and watching fireworks (especially on the 4 th of July) around the lake. As you know, the sale of consumer fireworks is legal in Maine. While we all enjoy the fireworks, please keep in mind the following:
If you love the lake, please remember that fireworks do pollute the water. We don’t really need the toxic fallout from fireworks in our lake. If you love the lake, then love the loons. Help our loons by keeping your fireworks show to a minimum. It’s no secret, loons hate fireworks. Be considerate of others. Just because you’re on vacation all week it doesn’t mean your neighbors are. I know many of us would appreciate fireworks use on weekends only. Also, fireworks are permitted for use until 10 pm (except for July 4 th and December 31 st ☺). After 10 pm, you are breaking the law! Keep it safe and have a great summer !
L i t t l e S e b a g o L a k e A s s o c i a t i o n MEMBER 2016 Display your decal with Pride! All of you should have recently received your LSLA Membership Decal along with your annual dues letter. The decal should be located on the exterior of your boat, anywhere above the water line. This will identify you as paid active member of the Little Sebago Lake Association. This decal will also help you to identify other members as well. We are looking forward to seeing you out there on the lake with your decal this summer!
