ULSTER PLAYER RECORDS 48MPH PASS

BT SPEED TEST CHALLENGE

Match Day Fans Offered Chance to Test Pass Speed Against Top Players’ Scores

BT, Official Communications partner of Ulster Rugby, will tonight run the BT Speed Test, a fun and interactive measure of pass speed and power available to match day goers in Kingspan Stadium. Using state of the art radar technology, Ulster fans will be challenged to record their fastest pass which will be benchmarked on a leaderboard of scores recorded by current members of the Ulster Rugby Team. Ulster Rugby’s Mike Allen recorded a blistering (and unorthodox!) 48mph pass when the players took part in their own BT Speed Test Challenge this month, unofficially equalling the current Guinness World Record held by Wasp’s Joe Simpson. A video of the Ulster Rugby players BT Speed Test Challenge is available at www.ulsterrugby.com.

Match day goers will have their first chance to beat the player records at tonight’s game in the stadium forecourt. Each participant will be given two attempts to record their fastest pass for a chance to win spot prizes. Gina Kelly, PR, Sponsorship and Events Manager, BT Ireland, said: “The BT Speed test is our latest challenge for fans, giving them the chance to test their passing skill and speed while pitting themselves against the best of the Ulster Rugby team who managed to unofficially equal the Guinness World Record of 48mph.” Please note the BT Speed Test Challenge must meet health and safety regulations in order to take place. Ulster Rugby uphold the right to cancel this activity, weather permitting.
