The PHA Buzz February 2012

Train with the best

PHA Media have launched a brand new media training programme this month, aimed at helping clients hone their media skills and maximise the value of each media opportunity. The course covers the three main types of media interview (print, TV and radio) and revolves around several ‘live’ interviews, giving clients hands on practical experience dealing with media situations. These interviews are also filmed and played back to participants, allowing them to gain a real insight into their strengths and weaknesses. In addition, the course also covers the basic theoryofmediainterviews, helpingcandidates understand what journalists really want. We also look at the participant company’s key messages, helping develop the story so it is ‘media friendly’ and has the biggest possible impact. The new course itself lasts half a day and specificallycoversareassuchasunderstanding the media, your key messages, tips for TV/ radio/print, handling the Press and other types of interview such as online, Press conferences and out of the blue calls.

In addition to the above, we are also offering a new full-day media training session, which focuses on presenting skills in the afternoon. This course is designed to take your media expert skills to the next level and give clients the chance to front their own programme on a given subject. The session is not intended for wannabe TV presenters, but for experts who are keen to gain experience in front of the camera. The additional benefit of this full-day package is that, not only do clients receive outstanding media training, but they leave

with a fantastic looking DVD which can be used on their website, as part of a showreel or as the first episode of a video podcast series to raise their online profile. The course is one which has already benefitted up and coming actress and philanthropist Gabriela Hersham who comments, “the media training really helped and I feel much more confident about future interviews.” For more information about media training please contact
