Integration with a Learning Management System

LP competency tests are currently integrated with the HealthStream Learning Center so HS customers can assign and track all tests as courses in the HLC. In addition, we have options to integrate with other standard LMS applications as well. Many, but not all skills will include images-photos and drawings—that show how to perform the skill. All images are in full color.

Elsevier indicates that there are options for LMS integration available.

Images in Mosby’s Nursing Skills are not embedded in the procedure so cannot be viewed within the procedure text. The user has to view and print them as a separate action.

Because images aren’t embedded in the text, users have to go to several different sections to obtain all the information they need. It is a very clunky user experience.

LP has a much easier user experience.

Many, but not all skills will include video clips showing critical steps of the skill being performed. Users can view the videos from within the procedure, and also on a separate video tab. Most clips include live humans to demonstrate steps

Videos are in a section titled, “Demos.” They are not embedded in the actual procedure.

Short video clips in LP focus on enabling the nurse to complete the task at point of care. Mosby’s is just animations so not particularly helpful for this.
