Puppies

W hen your puppy has completed his course of vaccinations, you can broaden his experiences over the next few months so that he receives a comprehensive education that will equip him for adult life. Here are some ideas for socializing your pup: • Go for a walk in a quiet neighborhood so your pup gets used to seeing traffic at ground level. • If your puppy is coping well, go to busier places where there is heavy traffic and crowds of people. • Go to an outdoor event, such as a garage sale or an open-air market where they will be hustle and bustle from stores and shoppers, as well as lots of interesting scents. • Take your pup for a walk in your local park; go past the children’s play area so he can hear the sound of children playing, and if you have practiced your recall you can let him off the lead so he can meet some other dogs. • Go to a railway station and walk along the platform so your pup can get used to the sound of trains and also to loudspeaker announcements.
