WCN Autumn 2010

Eder Engineering-Austria, specialist and pioneer for over 60 years in the field of high quality drawing die-tools, advanced die processing technologies and state-of-the-art working equipment for the production and reconditioning of ultra hard precision die tools, is known as a global player in the supply of reliable and long service life high-tech products to the international wire and cable industry. Eder offers technically advanced, but easy to understand and operate, standard-, semi-automatic- and fully automatic die reconditioning concepts, ready for operation. Single machines or complete workshop lines are available, as well as technical assistance whenever required. Reconditioning drawing dies on a regular basis is essential to the production of consistent high quality wire, as it enables longer uninterrupted wire drawing processes, improved performances and more tons of drawn wire. Eder Engineering has long held a leading position in advanced diamond/PCD die working Dies and die working

technology and equipment, offering universal flexibility and application, a high degree of automation – even on standard units – and highest possible efficiency, particularly in machinery for the reconditioning and production of diamond- and PCD dies. The latest development in this respect is the USP-Twin, believed to be the first ultrasonic die-processing machine with two workstations to be handled by a single operator, offering double efficiency. While ultrasonic machines in general are needed to work the conical die-portions, high-speed mechanical wire-type conceptions, such as Eder’s HGM-21 twin unit, are used to calibrate and polish the cylindrical die bearing. Each of the aforementioned machines offer the potential of working ND/PCD dies in a size-range between 0.1mm and 8mm diameter, where traditionally many more machines would be needed to cover this extended work range. These machines, and machines for processing tungsten carbide dies and die workshop ancillary devices, were on display at wire Düsseldorf 2010.
