Alcalá 1963

To Saint Didacus de Alcala, whose name was given to San Diego

and to its historical mission, we dedicate our ALCALA.

Saint Didacus-a Spanish Franciscan, Saint Didacus-a former toller of bells. Your life chimed the bells of

Humility, as you fulfilled the office of infirmarian in the Convent of Ara Coeli; Prudence, as director and

guardian of the religious community on the Canary Island of Fortaventura; Sanctity, as you interceded in favor of those who were miraculously cured in your name.

Guide us, encourage us, teach us, to cherish the sacred bells in our lives.

Help us to treasure our chimes of Humility, Prudence and Sanctity in order that they may reverberate vigorously Throughout our own Alcala on the hill.
