Alcalá 1963

High spirited members of the junior class returned to Alcala this fall eager

to begin their first year as upper classmen. Lead by president Patti Murphy, vice-

president Nancy Erhardt, secretary Stephanie Mayfield and treasurer Linda Rahl

and with the guidance of class moderator Mother Furay, the juniors planned a busy

year. The first class projects were the sale of U.S.D. calendars and a fun filled fair

planned to raise money for the Autumn Informal, which was enjoyed by the entire

school at the Vacation Village this October.

Class parties and other activities arranged by social chairmen, Polly Holmberg

and Margaret Morgan, made November and the Thanksgiving season an active

time for the Class of 1964. Adding to the excitement of the Christmas season and

holiday atmosphere was the arrival of the junior's coveted class rings.

A stimulating retreat heralded the spirit-filled spring semester. Who else but

the juniors could have so thoroughly exploited the fun-promising potentials that

were present at the Upper Division Supper Dance? With the coming of warm April

days, the enthusiastic "lower-uppers" were found in the patios chatting about their

fashion show, which was held in May. As summer vacation approached, the juniors

could look back on a wonderfully unified year, confident that their return in Sep

tember as Seniors would herald the arrival of new challenges, new achievements

and a culmination of spiritual riches that would serve as guideposts for a lifetime.
