PRESS RELEASE

STRONG PRICES FOR RETIREMENT SALE

Brown & Co. held a machinery auction on Thursday 3rd March at Gables Farm, Silk Willoughby, Linsolnshire.

The sale followed the retirement of Tony Seymour of D. Seymour & Son from farming. A large number of buyers turned out on the sale day and strong interest was shown in the Claas Celtis 426 tractor, the Massey Ferguson 355 and the 2000 Caterpillar materials handler.

On the day the Claas Celtis 426 tractor made £13,000 and the 2000 Caterpillar materials handler made £7,300.

The Massey Ferguon 355 tractor made £5,850 and a 1982 6T Bailey tipping trailer made £2,900, and is returning to the manufacturer as a showpiece.

Approximately 150 lots were sold on the day by Mr Seymour and other parties who were kindly given permission to enter their machinery into the auction and the results also included a 1968 Massey Ferguson 135 Tractor for £2,600, 1985 Claas Dominator Combine at £4,000 and a McConnel hedge trimmer for £1,200.

The good turnout from potential buyers and strong bidding made for a successful day at a traditional small dispersal sale.
