EBAC Bushing - Technical Product Brochure (EC-2)

EBAC SOLID INSULATION BUSHINGS FEATURES

The design features and characteristics of EBAC bushings provide many benefits and advantages over traditional OIP (Oil Impregnated Paper) porcelain bushings. Meeting standard IEEE C57.19.01 requirements:  • Partial discharge values below 2pC (required value less than 25pC) resulting from void-free casting process, provides enhanced longevity  • Bushing construction (cycloaliphatic resin body combined with dry type assembly) provides current overload capacity while maintaining maximum temperature rise limit  • Can be stored and mounted at ANY angle since there is no oil  • No oil reservoir required, therefore no oil-level maintenance  • No need for stabilization period prior to installation - simply receive and install  • Minimized environmental impact  • Non-tracking insulation is suitable for more compact designs and allows for providing longer creep distances; optimized for highly pol- luted areas and more demanding applications:   - salt fog (coastal and highways)   - heavy industrial areas   - continued UV exposure  • Fire retardant material and no oil to burn provides added safety benefits  • Safe failure mode – cycloaliphatic bushings do not explode like por- celain bushings  • High resistance to damage – since bushings do not shatter under impact (dropped tool, gun shot), equipment operation is not compro- mised allowing for continued operation and minimized shut-downs  • Insulation is moisture resistant (note that this type of material is often used to seal broken porcelain!)  All ECI bushings are oil-free:  • NO oil and NO PCBs
