The RSL took up camp for a week leading up to Anzac Day and had lots of lovely uniformed bears and collector coins etc to sell and raise much needed funds. Surprised us all, they nearly sold out byWednesday and managed to obtain more stock to keep selling till Friday. They managed to raise well needed funds for their branch. Big thanks to Judith at Clouds Cafe for looking after the RSL volunteers during the week. If you are part of a community groupwho have a need to promote your services to the general community, you're welcome to use our centre to make this happen. You may have a fundraising event coming up or need to raise funds for a special cause. The Justice of the Peace Service is here each Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 11am-1pm and Saturday 10am-12noon commencing May; they have responded to your calls for extra services and have increased their attendance to be at your service. Federal Update

Thanks to the many locals who braved the rain to come to my recent Mobile Office at the ‘two little bakers’ cafe in Mudgeeraba (above). With an electorate that stretches out to the Lockyer Valley and takes in Boonah, Beaudesert and some of the Gold Coast Hinterland, I’m very conscious of the need to take my office on the road - to meet directly with residents and stay in touch with what is happening in our communities. I was pleased to announce recent Federal funding for the Vietnam Veterans Social Golf Club Project, to install new plaques on the Vietnam Veterans Social Golf Club Memorial in Mudgeeraba. This is part of our ongoing Saluting their Service commemorations programme, which ensures we remember our servicemen and women well beyond this Anzac Centenary. With the Federal Budget set to be delivered this month, I do encourage anyone who has questions about any aspect of the Budget to give my office a call. I also welcome your feedback at any time.
