Specifics for Issuance at all Local WIC Agencies: Trained staff must demonstrate assembly and use of the pump and kit, and provide instructions for cleaning. Local Agencies must assess participant understanding of: • Assembly and cleaning • Proper milk storage guidelines • How to establish and maintain milk supply • Know when to seek help • Follow up with electric breast pump recipients within 24 hours

Medical Grade Electric Breast Pump Loans: • Medela Symphony –For mothers delivering at 32 weeks gestation or earlier. • Medela Lactina – Mother and baby separation due to hospitalization, work or school - Mothers who choose to pump and feed breast milk with a bottle - Facial or oral anomalies Working or Student Mothers: Medela Pump in Style • Mothers returning to work or school that have established a full milk supply. • Must provide proof of employment or school schedule. Manual pumps: Medela Harmony • For occasional separation of mother and baby, short term breastfeeding problems.

All pumps are available at each clinic. Participant may request a pump at any time.

Working or Student Mothers: Medela Personal Pump ‘n Style • Working or student mothers (minimum of 20 hours) may qualify for a personal pump. • Personal pump issued when hospital grade pump is returned. • Participant may not receive formula after receiving a personal pump.

Manual pumps: Harmony • Available upon request

All pumps are available at each clinic. Participants are advised to call for pump availability at (562) 570-4242.

Working or Student Mothers: Medela Personal Double Pump • Mom requests pump at her WIC site. A medical referral is not necessary.
