toxicity and 44% moderate/severe acute side-effects. Forty-five initial codes were combined into nine themes which were then clustered in two main macro-areas: Opportunities and Challenges. In terms of Opportunities, patients understand that having a genetic test provides scientifically based supplementary information that is useful on multiple levels and it is an occasion to better prepare for the treatment. Moreover, the introduction opens up the possibility to be engaged in the decision-making process for those patients who are interested in having an active role. On the other hand, some patients report that they would feel uncomfortable in trying to “making predictions” and they would prefer to avoid anticipation of the future. Especially, when faced with the possibility of dealing with undetermined and not conclusive results from the test, some participants highlight possible feelings of uncertainty due to lack of a ground basis for a treatment choice. Frustration, fear, disappointment and anxiety are listed as possible emotional outcomes.
