(95% CI, 19.71 – 35.15) in HPV negative group, a statistically non-significant difference in LRC distribution ( p = 0.114). The median OS was not reached in HPV positive group at the time of analysis, and 33.15 in HPV negative group, a statistically non-significant difference in OS distribution (p = 0.139). Univariate analysis showed no statistically significant impact of HPV status on LRC (HR 2.083, 95% CI 0.821 – 5.284; p = 0.122) as well as OS (HR 2.379, 95% CI 0.727 – 7.783; p = 0.152) (Table 2).

Conclusion The incidence of HPV mediated OPC in India is much lesser than that reported in developed countries. There is no impact of HPV status on treatment outcomes. The interaction between tobacco consumption and HPV status and thereby its impact on treatment outcomes remains to be explored further in developing countries
