The Time Is Now - Developing A Lifestyle Of Prayer

2 Timothy 4:2

The Next Step If you've completed these lessons in orde1; then you may now be coming to the twelfth step or higher in "Twenty Steps to Daily Prayer" (page 147). Take time to thank and praise God for the progress you've made. Please also consider this experience as a launching pad for your continued development of your prayer life. God will always be there, looking fo1ward to your visits with Him. Memory Passage "Jesus called them together and said, 'You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."' -Mark 10:42-45 Six Major Killers of Faithfulness While you are praying proactively for positive character qualities, pray also that God would protect you from the following dangers. A. Lack of discipline in the "small" and "unimportant." At around age nine, my son Seth received a BB gun for Christmas. I don't like BB guns, because they teach kids to be careless with real ones. I had a talk with Seth, and said, "We're going to pretend that this gun is a 30.06 (rifle). If I see you violate any principles of gun safety, that gun is going in the dump. No second chances. The risks are too high." We miss this principle in other areas of life where the consequences of negligence are not immediately obvious. We become lax in the seemingly small and unimportant, but the lax ity carries over, perhaps in ways we don't even recognize, into more important areas of life. Going Fuirtheir and Deepeir
