The Time Is Now - Developing A Lifestyle Of Prayer

17. Why must God intervene in order for people to clearly see the truth (2 Corinthians 4:4; Acts 16:14; Luke 24:45; Ephesians 1:18)?

F. Pray for an opportunity to serve your friends and to genuinely love them by meeting needs. Then keep your eyes and mind open to see ways to show love. This is love through action.

18. Paul loved people through action (1 Corinthians 9:19-22, 10:24,33) . What actions might speak love to your unbelieving .friends?

G. Pray for the opportunity to share what Jesus means to you. This is love through truthful words.

19. How will praying help prepare youfor the opportunities God will provide (Colos sians 4:2-3)?

H. Pray that your friends would say "yes" when you invite them to church or other opportunities to learn ofJesus. Remembe1; it is never your job to create a response or a commitment in someone else. That is God's job. Yours is to share the truth and to cultivate a loving, safe environment.

20. How does God intend the behavior of believers toward each other to be an instru ment for outreach purposes Oohn 13.35; 17:20-21)?

Special note: Be sure also to pray for yourself, for real love and desire for your friends' salvation (see Paul's and Jesus' examples in Romans 9:1-3 and Matthew 9:36-38). Pray for your own boldness to speak (Acts 4:31). Don't be afraid of mistakes. You will make them, but God will still use you and you will develop skill through the experience. Take time now to offer a number of these requests, in your own words, on behalf of a few
