JSM - Edition Three

N ever S ay N ever It was mid spring, and I was kneeling in a beautiful meadow of vibrant, colourful flowers. There were lots of fluffy little bunnies hopping cheerfully around me. My bunny’s name was Cinnamon she was a beautiful chocolate brown colour. She had long ears that dropped down beside her perfect face. She was as soft as a wooly jumper and her eyes were emerald green. As I was kneeling in the picturesque meadow I could hear the steady trickle of the waterfall flowing gently. The fragrant roses, daffodils and violets filling the air with sweet perfume, I could feel the sort fur of Cinnamon running through my fingers and all I could see was beautiful green grass and flowers scattered through the everlasting meadow. I had everything I could wish for. I was the happiest girl in the world! Nothing was ever going to change… Never say never. Now I’m stuck in a small apartment in Sydney with nothing outside my window except a factory with hot, murky steam rising from it every second. Instead of the steady trickle from the waterfall all you can hear is the noises that buses, cars, trucks, trains, trams and planes make. All I can smell is the disgusting air pollution from the polluting factory. Cinnamon’s fur isn’t as soft as it used to be because she can’t go outside anymore. I have absolutely no idea why we moved here in the first place. My parents refuse to tell me why and they expected me to live without knowing why we left our precious house miles away and went to live in a stinky apartment with no fresh air or anything. Some nights I lie in my uncomfortable bed and I dream about our old house up in the hills with everything so calm and picturesque. Other nights I can’t get to sleep at all because of all the noise from the road and the footsteps of the people upstairs. high school and quite possibly my worst. My old school was much smaller and much more comforting. It was called Alby Primary School. My school uniform for my new school is the worst uniform you have ever seen. It looks like you are going to the snow. It includes a big wooly jumper, long trousers, big black shoes and a long sleeve shirt that has the school logo on it. The school logo is a big black bird with its glossy wings in the air and its sharp beak open. As I was getting ready for school in my dusty bedroom my stomach was twisting itself in a tight knot. It felt like it was never going to unclench itself. I was looking outside my dusty window at the bus stop and I saw a group of girls in the same school uniform as me. The girl that all the other girls were surrounding, was wearing her long blonde hair in a pony-tail that dropped down to her waist. Her hair was as long as mine. Emerald green eyes that reminded me of Cinnamon and her small ear-rings were diamond. Today could not have gone worse. My teacher is the meanest teacher that you will ever meet. He has a twisted mouth that he uses for embarrassing me, a long pointy nose that he uses for sticking into personal business and he uses a long stick to scrap against the white-board to get our attention. It leaves a scraping mark and makes the most dreadful sound ever. On the other hand, the girl with the blonde hair is really nice, she is called Madeline. She has two twin baby sisters called Holly and Piper. They have just turned two and are a lot of trouble for Madeline’s parents. Madeline’s parents are named Matthew and Bridget. Madeline’s friends she was hanging out with at the bus stop were also really nice their names were Mila, Brooklyn, Olivia and Hazel. T he D ay S he D readed I was very unhappy today. Today was the day that…I had to start at a new school, I normally love school but today I didn’t. My new school is called South Sydney High School. It was my first year in
