C 812162 Satin Chrome i Health & safety: These hinges will spring the door shut into its centre position. As an uncontrolled door closing device there is no checking or damping. Before fitting to fire resisting doors, check with the fire or building control officer for acceptance. If acceptable select the correct size & follow the installation instructions. Two hinges should be fitted unless the doors are fire resisting. To install spring hinges correctly fix a 'plant' down the hanging edge of the frame, ideally the same thickness as the door, to allow free movement of the cylinders. See diagram below. Adjustment: normal operation of the hinge is achieved by tightening both capstans on each hinge & inserting the pins provided. Under usual circumstances you would load the top hinge(s) with no more than three holes & the bottom hinge no more than two holes. Maintenance: spring hinges are lightly lubricated before leaving the factory. The manufacturers recommend periodical lubrication to maintain trouble free operation.
